This week we were tasked with writing a review on two of our fellow student’s blogs, we also received a review on our blogs, from our peer’s. We started by reading articles about the different ways we can give feedback, we studied about giving feedforward (Goldsmith) and how that advice comes across more positively, we also learned about mirror advice (Be a Mirror: Give Readers Feedback That Fosters a Growth Mindset) and how having a growth mindset can really affect a person’s work ethic. We spoke about how we should receive feedback, we read about how having a fixed mindset can stop you from developing new skills, we learned it is important to receive feedback and how you can use it, to positively influence your creative work. Most people don’t particularly like getting feedback as no matter how it is intended, sometimes it can come across as criticism and can be demoralising and unproductive for future work.
